gnome on the range

This is one of Planet Calamari's best selling design.
Inspired over 15 years ago while i was living in Montana, very close to Yellowstone National Park. I hope that Yellowstone remains a preserved National Park forever and is untouched by corporate construction, condos and mini-malls!

Dancing Shiva

I was feeling chilled today and thought a nice image of the HIndu God, Shiva would be warming.

From Wikipedia: "He is both static and dynamic; both creator and destroyer. He is the oldest and the youngest; he is the eternal youth as well as the infant. He is the source of fertility in all living beings. He has gentle as well as fierce forms. Shiva is the greatest of renouncers as well as the ideal lover. He destroys evil and protects good. He bestows prosperity on worshipers although he is austere. He is omnipresent and resides in everyone as pure consciousness."

tip for tonight.... BLOW UP YOUR TV!

All this fuss about the ABC 9-11 show.......here is a great tip from John Prine....don't watch it...ignore and BLOW UP YOUR TV!

" Blow up your T.V.
throw away your paper,

Go to the country, build you a home

Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches

Try an find Jesus on your own"

- John Prine

What would happen if we all turned off the TV tonight... ignored it all.... read a good book, ...listened to some music, went out dancing, meditated, played a game, took a bubble bath, sat under the stars, ate peaches and drank wine....................

For everyone who has been so helpful and kind lately....thank you!

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person.
Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.

Something magical is about to happen!

Just Say Oooooooommmmmmm!

The Om in Heart Chakra has been the most popular design this summer at Planet Calamari. Perhaps people are searching for a way to stay calm in the midst of all the turmoil and insanity that is happening on the planet.

Last week my husband and i decided to finally shut off our tv cable, since we have not watched it for over a month. It was quite liberating. Not watching the news has been very positive for us. I highly recommend it!

As John Prine would sing..."Blow up your tv!"

Just say OM!

happy birthday e. e. cummings

i carry your heart with me
by e. e. cummings

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

happy birthday ee cummings!

anyone lived in a pretty how town
(with up so floating many bells down)
spring summer autumn winter
he sang his didn't he danced his did.

Women and men (both little and small)
cared for anyone not at all
they sowed their isn't they reaped their same
sun moon stars rain

children guessed (but only a few
and down they forgot as up they grew
autumn winter spring summer)
that noone loved him more by more

when by now and tree by leaf
she laughed his joy she cried his grief
bird by snow and stir by still
anyone's any was all to her

someones married their everyones
laughed their cryings and did their dance
(sleep wake hope and then)they
said their nevers they slept their dream

stars rain sun moon
(and only the snow can begin to explain
how children are apt to forget to remember
with up so floating many bells down)

one day anyone died i guess
(and noone stooped to kiss his face)
busy folk buried them side by side
little by little and was by was

all by all and deep by deep
and more by more they dream their sleep
noone and anyone earth by april
with by spirit and if by yes.

Women and men (both dong and ding)
summer autumn winter spring
reaped their sowing and went their came

Ganesha, Remover of Obstacles

Ganesha is one of my most favorite Hindu Deities. He is known as the Lord of Good Fortune and the Remover of Obstacles. I always thought of him as the Hindu Santa Claus.

According to the Wikipedia, "It is widely believed that "Wherever there is Ganesh, there is Success and Prosperity" and "Wherever there is Success and Prosperity there is Ganesh". This is why Ganesh is believed to be the harbinger of good fortune, and why he is invoked first at any ritual or ceremony. Whether a new house, a new vehicle, students praying before the exams, or people praying before job interviews, it is Ganesha they pray to, because it is believed that he will come to their aid and grant them success in their endeavor."

Miracles are to come...

“Miracles are to come.
With you, I leave a remembrance of miracles.
They are by one who can love; who shall be continually reborn; a human being.
They are by one, who when his fingers could no longer hold the brush,
said to those near him, tie it into my hand.”
