Happy Towel Day!

So long Douglas.... and Thanks for all the fish!

Towel Day is celebrated every May 25 as a tribute by fans of the late author Douglas Adams.[1] On this day, fans carry a towel with them to demonstrate their love for the books and the author. The commemoration was first held in 2001, two weeks after Adams' death on May 11, 2001.[2] The towel is a reference to Adams's popular science fiction comedy series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss!

Theodor Seuss Geisel (2 March 1904 - 24 September 1991) better known by his pen name, Dr. Seuss, was a famous American writer and cartoonist best known for his children's books.

"I am the Lorax, I speak for the trees.
I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues
,
And I'm asking you, sir, at the top of my lungs" --
He was very upset as he shouted and puffed --
"What's that THING you've made out of my Truffula tuft?"
  • Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
nothing is going to get better. It's not.
  • Catch! calls the Once-ler.
    He lets something fall.
    It's a Truffula Seed.
It's the last one of all!
You're in charge of the last of the Truffula Seeds.
And Truffula Trees are what everyone needs.
Plant a new Truffula. Treat it with care.
Give it clean water. And feed it fresh air.
Grow a forest. Protect it from axes that hack.
    Then the Lorax
    and all of his friends
    may come back.

Think Positive during negative times.....

I am so tired of hearing everyone complaining about the economy that i have decided to do a post about it.

If you are a business owner please do not whine to your customers about how slow business is! Having your clients leave your place of business depressed is not a good motivator for them to return and spend money.

Stop watching the news! It will only depress you. Spend your time reading positive books, watching inspiring movies and thinking good thoughts. Remember the Law of Attraction. Like attracts like. Watch the movie The Secret or What the Bleep if you want to learn more about the laws of attraction. (You can also get those at your local library for free)

Here is a great book to motivate you and inspire you during these trying times. Go to the library if you cannot afford to buy it!

How do you say Happy New Year in Chinese? Greet everyone you meet with Gung Hay Fat Choy" which means "Wishing You Prosperity and Wealth".

Happy Birthday Henri Matisse

From Wikipedia:
" (31 December 1869 – 3 November 1954) was a French artist, known for his use of colour and his fluid, brilliant and original draughtsmanship. As a draughtsman, printmaker, and sculptor, but principally as a painter, Matisse is one of the best-known artists of the 20th century. Although he was initially labeled as a Fauve (wild beast), by the 1920s, he was increasingly hailed as an upholder of the classical tradition in French painting.[1] His mastery of the expressive language of colour and drawing, displayed in a body of work spanning over a half-century, won him recognition as a leading figure in modern art."

Happy Birthday Frank Zappa!

December 21, 1940 – December 4, 1993

The most important thing to do in your life, is to not interfere with somebody else's life.
